Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Speaker Map software and services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Speaker Map is a batch audio and video transcription software sold as a client-server system. The Service includes the backend server software, frontend desktop client, license management portal, and optional support plans.

3. License Grant

Upon purchase, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Speaker Map software subject to the following conditions:

• Each license key may be activated on the number of machines specified by your license type
• You may not redistribute, sublicense, or share your license key with third parties
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• The license is perpetual unless revoked for violation of these terms

4. License Activation and Validation

The software requires periodic online license validation. A hardware fingerprint is generated from your machine to track activations. You may deactivate and re-activate your license on different machines through the customer portal, subject to your activation limits.

If the software cannot validate your license online, a 30-day offline grace period applies. After this period, the software will operate in a limited trial mode until validation is restored.

5. Payments and Refunds

All prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Payment is processed securely through Stripe. License purchases are one-time payments. Support plans are billed monthly.

Refunds may be requested within 14 days of purchase if you have not activated the license. Activated licenses are non-refundable. Support plan subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; no refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

6. Support Plans

Optional support plans provide email-based technical support. Response times and features vary by plan tier. Support plans are separate from the software license and are billed as monthly subscriptions.

7. Data Privacy

Speaker Map processes all transcription data locally on your hardware. No audio, video, or transcription data is transmitted to our servers. The only data we collect is:

• Account information (email, name, company)
• License activation data (hardware fingerprint, activation timestamps)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

8. Limitation of Liability

Speaker Map is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the software, including but not limited to data loss, transcription errors, or system downtime. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the software.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to revoke your license and terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software and destroy any copies in your possession.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
